Current Obsessions

Yaoi
I used to like yuri so much more... Now, don't get me wrong. I certainly still adore yuri, but I've come a long way from reading the occasional KuramaxHiei fanfic. I went to Yaoi-Con 2001! And it was fabulous!! XD

Yuri
^____^ As if you couldn't tell from the page, eh? ^_~ The world really needs more romantic yuri fanfiction. ::sigh::

Gundamwing fanfics
Um, yeah. I first saw the series in early 1998. I hated it. I stayed away from the yaoi fanfics, preferring the YYH ones (of course, I don't like YYH either...). Then for some unknown reason I started to read them (of the yaoi/shounenai variety, of course). Since March 2000 I've averaged about 20 fics per week, give or take a few. I might have even skipped out on some exam studying because of them (not a smart decision >_<). I get more into this on my GW page, but I'm absolutely in love with DuoxHeero and TrowaxQuatre.

Cardcaptor Sakura
Besides Sailormoon, this is my favourite series, which includes obsessively wanting to own every piece of merchandise in existence. I like the manga more than the anime, because it has more of a plot and more TouyaxYukito, but the anime is fun for it's cuteness. ::looks at URL:: Yep, TouyaxYukito would probably be the main reason I like it, but I like it for its other qualities, too!

Anime Music
I haven't counted in a while, but I have about 150 Japanese anime/j-pop CDs. I'm *constantly* listening to music. In my room, in the car, at my computer, doing homework. I know absolutely noting about English music, but I can sing along to Youkoso METALLIC PARTY with the best of 'em. ^_^v

Current favourites: (this list changes constantly...)
1) Light of Love - Brain Powerd - Sakamoto Maaya
2) Yubiwa - Escaflowne movie - Sakamoto Maaya
3) Watashi wa oka no ue kara kabin wo nageru - Sakamoto Maaya
4) Yumemiru Melody - Kaitou St. Tail - Kajitani Miyuki
5) T-shirts - Sakamoto Maaya
6) Kaze ga fuku hi - Tenkuu no Escaflowne - Sakamoto Maaya
7) Gotta Knock a Little Harder - Cowboy Bebop movie - Yamane Mai
8) MASK - Bakaretsu Hunter - Okui Masami, Matsumura Kasumi
9) BLUE - Cowboy Bebop - Yamane Mai
10) La Soldier - Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon - Sakurakko Club

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon
I know it's too popular for its own good, but I just love it to death. Sailormoon has changed my life, there's no doubt about it. It has such wonderful characters with an intriguing and well developed plot. It's still my favourite. Like Cardcaptor Sakura, I prefer the manga, but the anime has it's own charm (and wonderful moments like the Nehelenia arc, 110-111, 123-125, 44-45, and 196-200). I'm one of those people who has every single episode in Japanese (most raw and subbed) and (tries) to follow Seramyu closely. I think it will always have a special place in my heart. Wai!! I'm getting all the Sailormoon R2 DVDs! XD XD XD That way they won't be infused with the evilness that is the dub! XD

Non-Anime Stuff

Star Trek
I've been a Trekker for most of my life, starting when The Next Generation came on the air in 1987. I do like TNG the best (I have all the episodes memorised o.o;), but I love TOS, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise, too. ^_^ ::drool:: Owning TNG on DVD is fabulous!

Slash
Ah...the wonderful world of slash! ^_^ I know it's just the Western Hemisphere's version of yaoi (and yuri, too, actually), but I thought I'd create a separate category. I've been reading slash on and off since I first got into yaoi (sometime around 1997), but it was never all that much. I might have went a few days reading Star Trek slash or West Wing slash or something, but it was never a big deal like Cardcaptor Sakura or Gundamwing. Then Harry Potter came into my life. I've always sort of had an adversion to popular things (Sailormoon is the obvious exception), so I stayed away from the books for a long time. When the movie came out in November 2001, it piqued my interest. My Harry Potter fandom developed very haphazardly. I first read the slash, then saw the movie, then read the books, and then read more slash. ^o^ My favourite pairings are Harry/Draco, Harry/Severus, Hermione/Ginny, Seamus/Dean, Percy/Oliver, Sirius/Remus, and Fred/George (What? Twincest is *good*! ^o^). But I don't mind other pairings. I read a fair bit of Harry/Ron, James/Sirius, and a lot of others. Nothing beats Harry and Draco, though. As for other fandoms, there are a whole bunch. I've already mentioned Star Trek and West Wing, but there's also X-Men, Batman, Buffy, Billy Elliot, and so many others. Basically, I'll read any fandom if I like the story, even if I'm not into the canon fandom. Slash is fun like that. ^o~

Hercule Poirot
My family and I starting watching the Poirot TV series in 1990, and I've been a fan ever since. I just love David Suchet as Poirot and Hugh Fraiser as Captain Arthur Hastings. I've since read as many of Agatha Christie's books as I can get my hands on (I'm currently re-reading The A.B.C. Murders).

X-Men
I used to be a pretty big X-Men fan. I watched all the FOX cartoon series when it first aired, and started to collect the comics in 1994. I started to lose interest around 1995 when a certain sailor-suited heroine came into my life. ^_~ I did see the 2000 movie, and thought it was fantastic. Now I'm into X-Men slash. ^o^

My Anime Stuff
Er, I guess this is the part where I do a bit of bragging. o.o;;;
