I'm sorry, but I don't have a good picture of my Hitomi-chan costume. -_-;;
Worn For: Anime North 2001
Description:
Well, I must say that I can hardly take any credit for this costume. My mother sewed it all for me. ^^;;; You see, Anime North took place the last weekend in May, and I was only finished university exams on May 10th (plus I live in a different city than my parents, and we went to Las Vegas the third week of May). o.O;; So I didn't have any time to make the costume myself. ^^;; I think mom did an excellent job, especially considering she didn't have me there to model it. o.o;
As you can see in the picture, my friend Sunil went as Van Fanel. I know, I know, why was I Hitomi from the movie and he Van from the TV series? For a simple reason, really: the movie Van costume was a heck of a lot harder to make. ^o^
A year before for my Sakura-chan costume my mom and I found a "sailor" blouse pattern in fabricland. With some alterations, it was used to make the top. A skirt was patterned after another pleated skirt that I own.
Details:
The bow was made of a chiffon-like material, and didn't turn out very well. I think if it was made of the same type of material as the shirt/skirt, it would of held it shape much better.
Both the white bib and the ribbing down the centre were added to the shirt.
I was really lucky to find navy knee socks in Eatons. The shoes weren't exact, but were close, and were bought for $14.00 in The Bay.
As you can see in the picture, I didn't cut my hair or get a wig. I just tied it back in my usual ponytail.
