The review scale is pretty straightforward -- the number of stars indicate how much I like a song/CD, with 5/5 being the most, and 1/5 being the least. Alas, I don't own all of Maaya's singles. ::sigh::

VIDL-10856
Tracks:
1. Bokura no Rekishi
This is a really fun song! And really appropriate for CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan.

2. Jiken No Yokan - Densetsu
Instrumental.

3. Fushigina Dekigoto ~ Sousa Kaishi
Instrumental.

4. Bokura no Rekishi (original karaoke)
Overall reactions

This ia a "mini sound track" from CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan. It has more to do with the manga version of the series than the anime series, but it was released close to the premier of the anime. There's really no other reason to get this CD than for the karaoke version of Bokura no Rekishi. ^^;; And if you're trying to collect every piece of Maaya merchandise ever. ^^;

(Single)

Produced by: Kanno Youko

VIDL-30035
Tracks:
1. Gift
This is a really great song! It was the 2nd CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan ED. It's really fun and lively, and has this cool yodel thing at the beginning and end. ^_^

2. Kimi ni ai ni ikou
I don't really find this song very interesting. ^^;;; It's okay.

3. Gift (original karaoke)

4. Kimi ni ai ni ikou (original karaoke)
Overall reactions

I debated getting this CD for a long time. I didn't know if it would be worth it, because I already had both songs on Hotchpotch (and Gift again on the CCD 2nd OST). But my love for Maaya won out. ^_^; Even if I do hate Kimi ni ai ni ikou. :P And, yes, I did really want the karaoke version of Gift.

(Single)

Released: 98/4/22
Produced by: Kanno Youko
1,020 yen
VIDL-30202
Tracks:
1. Kiseki no Umi
This is the OP from Record of the Lodoss War TV. It's very primal -- there are a lot of drums, and people sort of chant. It's really good.

2. Active Heart
This is another really fun song; bright and cheery.

3. Kiseki no Umi (original karaoke)

4. Active Heart (original karaoke)
Overall reactions

Wai, I finally got this awesome CD. ^_^v Mwaha, my Maaya-sama Victor CD collection is almost complete. ^O^ I've loved both songs since I've heard them on Hotchpotch, and the karaoke tracks are a great bonus! ^_^

Hashiru
(Single)

Released: 98/11/21
Produced by: Kanno Youko

VIDL-30370
Tracks:
1. Hashiru
This song is very upbeat and fast paced, but in a sort of melancholy way, if that makes any sense. o.o;;

2. Pilot
Another melancholy song. A lot of people like this one, but it doesn't do much for me.

3. Hashiru (original karaoke)

4. Pilot (original karaoke)

Hee, another CD that helps me complete my Maaya-sama collection! ^_^v This was the single released sort of as a teaser for DIVE (Mameshiba was the same for Lucy, though it served a double purpose because it was the Arjuna ED). I've always thought Hashiru was a great song, though I wasn't that impressed with Pilot. Interestingly, Pilot made it onto Hotchpotch, but Hashiru didn't. o.O;

Platina
(Single)

Released: 99/10/21
Produced by: Kanno Youko
1,020 yen
VIDL-30450
Tracks:
1. Platina
This is the 3rd OP from Cardcaptor Sakura. It's really fun, and very Sakura-like. It's perfect for the show.

2. 24
This is an upbeat and fun song. It seems to be partially based on Cinderella.

3. Platina (original karaoke)

4. 24 (original karaoke)
Overall reactions

This is a really great single, both for Maaya and for Cardcaptor Sakura. The back cover is a really pretty picture of Sakura with wings, praying. ^^; When I first got this CD I was trying to decide between it and Tooi kono machi de (CCS's 1st movie ED). But, Platina won, 'cause it was Maaya. ^^; Luckily, I was able to get the other one several months later. ^^

Yubiwa
(Single)

Released: 00/6/21
Produced by: Kanno Youko
1,020 yen
VIDL-30497
Tracks:
1. Yubiwa
Oh my god, is this song ever good. *_* It's my second favourite anime song. It's actually sort of R&B-ish, with a strong bass, though it doesn't start off that way. ::drool drool:: I would have to say it's typical Maaya, actually. Very well done.

2. Vector
Another English Maaya song. ^^ Actually, I would say this is definitely her best English song so far. It's really, really good. The first few lines are sung just with a guitar in the background. It progresses into a sort of slow rock song. I actually wrote a Gundamwing 1+2 songfic to the lyrics. ^^;

3. Yubiwa (original karaoke)

4. Vector (original karaoke)
Overall reactions

You must get this CD!! If for nothing else than the fact that you can't get the songs on a Maaya album! You can get Yubiwa on the Esca movie OST (which I recommend anyway; it's an awesome CD *_*), but it's not the same version (the first few bars aren't there). You know, I think this is the only single where I can listen to it over and over and not get bored at all. It's just that good.

Shippo no uta
(Single)

Released: 00/8/23
Produced by: Kanno Youko
1,020 yen
VIDL-30506
Tracks:
1. Shippo no uta
This is a really fast-pased song. It's seems to rush and rush. ^^; And it has very weird bird sound type things. ^^;; It's good, though.

2. Midori no hane
This is such a good song. *_* It's nice and slow, and very melodic. Plus there's this awesome part in the middle... *_*

3. Yoake no Octave
It's sort of fast like Shippo no uta. There's a lot of talking throughout the song, which is kind of odd. ^^;;; And I don't know why there aren't any lyrics for it. o.o;;;
Overall reactions

This CD is definitely worth it just for Midori no hane. You can't get the songs on any other Maaya CD, so they're sort of rare. I'm sure you can buy them on various Napple Tale OSTs, though. I found it a bit strange that no karaoke tracks were included (I wanna sing Midori no hane!).

Mameshiba
(Single)

Released: 00/12/16
Produced by: Kanno Youko
1,020 yen
VIDL-30514
Tracks:
1. Mameshiba
There's a lot of guitar in this song. It's very upbeat and happy.

2. Kuuki to hoshi
This sort of sounds like it was made for a British drama set in the 19th century, if that makes any sense (reader: no, not really...). o.o;;; It's very slow, and has a soft guitar and piano in the background.

3. Mameshiba (original karaoke)
Overall reactions

This is a very nice CD. Apparently Mameshiba is Chikyuu Shoujo Arjuna's ED theme. It's sort of cool, because it doesn't come in the traditional single's packaging. It's in one of those really thin CD cases (you know what I mean if you have the Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon Memorial Music Box). ^^ It's nice to have the karaoke version of Mameshiba, though it's too bad Kuuki to hoshi doesn't come with one.

Hemisphere
(Single)

Produced by: Kanno Youko
1,000 yen
VICL-35358
Tracks:
1. Hemisphere
This is the opening to RaXephon. A very good pop song, and it suits RaXephon well (or what I've seen of it, at any rate). ^^;; I especially like the "build up" parts. ^_^

2. Ongaku
I like this even better than Hemisphere! ^_^ Oh, it's so slow, and wonderfully melodic. It sort of reminds me of Midori no hane, but I think that's only because I like both of them so much. ^^;; The violins are really a nice touch.

3. Hemisphere (original karaoke)
Overall reactions

Well, I think it's official. Victor has switched from the traditional CD-Single packaging to the "maxi single" packaging. I think every company has done the same. It's sort of weird after being used to the old packaging, but not bad. I *love* the cover for this single!! Maaya-sama is so pretty. *_* Argh, I wish they'd include karaoke tracks for both songs, though. This seems to be another trend, and one I definitely do not like, especially since I like Ongaku better than Hemisphere. >.< Thank god they didn't start this with Yubiwa. I don't know what I'd do without a Vector karaoke track... o.o
